Location: Oh My God!! PARIS!!

So this morning was a crazy whirlwind getting out of Barcelona. We had tickets for the high speed train leaving at 9. We were a sight; 5 of us dragging an insane amount of luggage down the street to the metro and making our way to the train station. A bunch of the escalators in the metro stations were down so we had to drag our luggage up and down so many stairs. At one point we attempted to jump on a metro train that was  packed with so many morning commuters, that only B’s mom and Lulu made it on. I was yelling through the glass at them so they would know which stop to get off at. We arrived shortly after them to find that Lulu’s phone had been picked from her purse on the metro. She was in tears. Ugh. So much drama. But we finally made it on the train and headed off to PARIS!!! We were all glad to have a few hours of relaxing time on the train and ended up chatting with several charming and delightful Aussies. B and I escaped to the beverage car for a mimosa.

Once we finally arrived in Paris, we were reliant on B’s mom to get us to the apartment, since she was kind enough to book it. It took us a few minutes to figure out which direction to walk, but before long we were on the way. The walk was really only about a mile and a half, but we had so much luggage we were dragging and the girls and B’s mom were so tired. So we put them all in a cab with as much luggage as we could and sent them ahead. So me and B, backpacking packs on, continued walking through Paris. It was surreal and amazing. We passed by Notre Dame and Shakespeare and Co. I love Spain and I know I will miss it, but right now I am just overjoyed to be in PARIS!

Made it to the apartment and got checked in. Then headed back out to find some dinner. Ate at a great little restaurant down the street and went home for some much needed sleep. Because tomorrow we PARIS! and EIFFEL TOWER!!

Pose: Tree Variation

Location: Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, Palau Nacional, Barcelona. Now that we have been in Spain for a few months and done a lot of traveling, we have gone into budget mode. In my research for free/cheap things to do in Barcelona, I learned that this museum offers free entrance on Saturdays. Lulu and Momo haven’t really been out in the city since we arrived in Barcelona, so today I dragged everyone out to do some exploring. We took our first metro ride. I have never lived in a city with an underground and I’ve never really vacationed or traveled in a city with an underground. So I’ve been a little nervous about getting lost on the metro….but it was super easy and now I think every city should have an underground. (I’m sure there are some cities with not so nice undergrounds, but Barcelona’s is really good).

We brought a picnic lunch to Parc Miro and the girls played on the playground. We then walked over to the national palace where the museum is housed and spent a little time checking out Catalunyan classical art. (The modern section is closed for refurbishment). Brandon has a much higher tolerance for classical art so the girls and I explored the outside of the palace while he took his time inside. As you can see from the photo, it is incredibly beautiful.

Pose: Pretending to be a fountain

Location: Well, another day has passed where I actually forgot to do a yoga pose….so instead I decided to include this photo from our trip to Cordoba. We were having lunch at a cafe in a big plaza and we noticed the plaza had no centerpiece; no statue or fountain. This is somewhat unusual. So being the silly dork I am, I ran out into the middle of the plaza and pretended to be a fountain. I’m sure the Spanish people thought I was a nut job tourist.

Pose: Standing Mermaid

Location: The balcony above el purerto de Aragon at Plaza de Espana. Today was a day off for everyone. The first time we visited the plaza, Momo really wanted to row boats, so today we came back to do that. We’ve done a lot of exploring that is perhaps more interesting to adults and less so for 10 year olds. So we are trying to make an effort to let Momo choose some activities that she wants to do. She’s been a pretty good sport about being dragged around a bunch of cathedrals and historical city centers. She’s also looking forward to going to Isla de Magica (a water park) and the science museum. After rowing the boats we did a little more exploring around the plaza and wandered up to this balcony with a great view of the plaza.

Pose: Kneeling Crescent

Sanskrit: Anjaneyasana

Location: In front of a fountain at Parque Maria Luisa. Today we joined all the students for a picnic in Sevilla’s largest and most beautiful park. I’m guessing most beautiful because even though I haven’t seen any of the other parks in Sevilla, this one is breathtaking. I didn’t even have a chance to explore the whole park, but I look forward to coming back soon to see more and find little hidden treasures.

Pose: Gate

Location: Solarium outside my chiropractor’s office. I’ve been nursing a sore shoulder for a few days so I went to see Dr. Manuel today. He is a magical wizard genius person who always heals me. Sorry for sounding like a yelp review, but I greatly appreciate his willingness to spend as much time with me as it takes. Coming here makes me feel like I am truly honoring my body (like we always say in yoga, but often don’t ).
